No notifications on ios9 still!!!

Just do yourself a favor amd stay away from this company!!!

No longer working, iOS 9

Hopefully theyre working on a fix for this, otherwise its useless. Skybell worked fairly consistently, although not problem free, before iOS 9. Now we cant even get it to go into setup mode.

$200 door bell chime, not a video doorbell.

Sky bell 2.0 Review Avoid this product unless you want an expensive $200 door chime I bought this back in August of this year. At first it was working ok, then it went downhill after about 1.5 months. I didn’t change anything. 1. The time it takes to answer the alert on the phone until I can actually see the video ranges from 5 sec to 15 seconds. Most of the time if I can even see the video, its of the people walking away (at lease 6 feet from the camera) 2. If the video works (which is right now 20% of the time), the video is not constant and freezes. I can turn the video on from my phone and then walk outside and it doesn’t even update. I checked all the wireless settings. 2.4GHz, 20MHz, Ookla shows my speed at 50 Mbps constant connection. I can FaceTime with family just fine without interruptions. Even in the recorded video, it freezes and its streaky. 3. I went through Skybell support and checked EVERYTHING wth them. I even showed them my speed test screen shots and shared all the router settings. They didn’t know what to do and blamed it on my spotty connection. It’s only spotty on the Skybell. For all my other devices it works fine. I asked to be able to return it for a refund and they said to take it back to the place where I bought it. Best Buy only has a 14 day return policy. Conclusion: I’m left with a $200 door bell chime, not a video doorbell. STAY AWAY FROM SKYBELL!!!!!

Will not notify on my phone, otherwise fine

No notifications on phone, thats the whole point. I can remote access just fine but need the app/phone notifications!!!!

It used to work, weve had it hooked up for 2 months now and it doesnt work anymore

Works well, easy setup

I had no issues hooking up my skybell to my home wifi. The notifications are almost instant. Camera quality isnt great, but its decent enough for a doorbell. Live viewing over my cell network (remote camera viewing) worked perfectly. Not sure why everyone had problems with this app... Although, I am a professional low voltage installer. So I have a decent amount of experience installing similar devices. But... All I did was read the directions. Only reason Im giving 4 stars is because the camera quality is a little weak. But honestly... I doubt thats the apps fault.

It works…because of KYLE!

I had issues setting up< wrong APP version…go figure. That being said I got online with Kyle via web chat on Christmas Eve 2015 and he decided to call me instead to offer EXCELLENT SUPPORT!!! You might have issues with the design, installation or setting up, but with dedicated support staff like Kyle I’d gladly buy another product/s from this company. Great job delivering support with real people in California who solve the needs of its users. Now i need to upgrade my 2.0 to the HD VERSION….WOW!!!!

Follow instructions and it works well

If you carefully read the requirements, and configure your network as described, installation is straightforward. Then you must wait 20 minutes, as instructed, for the battery to charge and the skybell to create a temporary network. Once you connect to it in the app, you must wait 5 minutes for the firmware update, as described. Then it works flawlessly. In short, if you carefully read and follow the instructions, it works. I bought this product because of the on-demand video monitoring and motion sensor, which others dont have. So far I am impressed. Note that it depends upon their server, so if the company folds, were out of luck, and it becomes a large, dumb, push button!

Works as advertised!

Setup was fairly straight forward. Installed the app on several iPhones and iPads. Ran into an issue with the hold to speak function from one of the iPhones, but a restart of the phone cleared that issue up. Video quality is average, but its clear enough to identify the person standing at the front door. Wished this product had WDR built into the camera.

Garbage app. Garbage product

Title says it all. Connectivity is horrible. App lacks features and integration. Support is nearly non existent. Dont even buy at a substantial discount. Buy the alternative.

Hold on to the Box

Worked fine out of the box until I got new Wi-Fi about a year later. Little did I know I would have to re-enter the device id again which is located in the directions/original packaging. I threw those away a long time ago. There is literally no other way to set your device up with out the ID and no way to retrieve it. Their FAQs / Support does not address this design flaw. Called the help number within business hours and they did not answer.

VERY BAD, DONT BUY

After many many months finally received the device, not working. After instructions how to return were received by me, send back, postal confirmation of arrival in destination, package could not be delivered and "lost"... Money gone, no device.

New update

I have the skybell 2.0 and having no problems with the new 2016 update, have no issues with mine it has been working great from the get go.. Keep bringing on the new updates..

Stopped working with new update

My sky bell no longer works after new update. It will not connect to my wifi.

IPhone 6S Plus, iOS9.2

January 20: Once again, my Skybell is a fancy looking doorbell...and only a doorbell...nothing else but the doorbell works...again. The audio issue with the 6S and 6Plus phone is still not fixed. My $200 doorbell continues to be a door decoration. Selling this piece of junk and buying an August Doorbell as soon as it is released...this product has had nothing but inhibiting issues.

Its heading nowhere

I am giving it two stars just because they are still trying... The app/product faila to deliver. There are many issues with it: 1) Horrible background noise on live video; did devs ever hear of noise reduction? 2) It absolutely never records the person passing by or pressing the door bell; instead it plays back a video full of screen tearing glitches, 3) It records what it wants, skipping activity at its will, 4) Still no way to delete activity, 5) no progress at all 2 years into the product life; enough said. Hire more devs and fix the product. Or publish an API. Thats the last chance before everyone dismisses it as a flop. Hardware is mediocre but at least has a potential if only the software delivered.

Still buggy

Works most of the time on my iPhone 6, but often shows low connection even when within 5 feet of the router. 2 minutes later its full speed. Audio doesnt work on y wifes iPhone 6s. Even after updating to latest version. Can hear the sounds from outside, but they cant hear my wife talking to them. Needs to be fixed ASAP. Its still too buggy to be really useful.

Can I go back to the previous version? 1.7.4
